Recovery Tubs

What is a Recovery Tub?

The Recovery Tub has been designed to be used as an Ice Bath. Also called cold water immersion, the recovery tub is used as a form of cryotherapy that call for sitting in cold/freezing water, ideally up to your chest, for anywhere between 3 to 10 minutes. The first time you get in, it takes your breath away. It’s quite an experience, but after using it a few times it gets easier, especially if you breathe and relax.

How does the Recovery Tub work?

Ice baths reduce inflammation and enhance recovery by changing the way blood and other fluids flow through your body. When you sit in cold/freezing water, your blood vessels constrict; when you get out, they dilate (or open back up). This process helps flush away metabolic waste after matches, trainings and post-workout.

Benefits of the Recovery Tub

  • Eases sore and aching muscles.
  • Improves your mood, sleep and mental state.
  • Decreases Inflammation: Cold water constricts your blood vessels, which can help with the swelling related to inflammation.
  • Reduces fatigue and lowers the risk of injury.
  • Builds discipline, resilience and self confidence.

Can the Recovery Tub improve sports performance?

If you play a game or workout and jump in the recovery tub, your performance isn’t going to be better the exact moment you jump out. That said, with continued use, the recovery tub will have a hugely positive effect on your muscles and the central nervous system, which helps you sleep and feel better. This, in turn, will improve your reaction time and explosiveness in future matches/workouts.
